We're searching for an Account Executive - State and Local Government to join our team. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with key stakeholders in Florida state government, including agency directors, department leaders, and elected officials. This individual will lead business development initiatives for James Moore's government services practice, with a focus on increasing brand recognition, and identifying and pursuing strategic opportunities in collaboration with the firm's lobbyist and government services leadership.

To achieve success in this position, we are looking for a professional with established connections and credibility within Florida's state government. They must be adept at representing the firm to high-level decision-makers while supporting efforts to position James Moore as a trusted partner for public sector engagements. Success in this position will hinge on being a proactive connector, strategic advisor, and relationship builder who understands how to navigate the state government landscape and drive meaningful growth for the firm.

This is a full-time hybrid role located in Tallahassee, Florida.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or related experience.
  • Proficient in CRM software (HubSpot preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Prior experience in the public sector
  • Prior experience in professional services
  • Must be located in Tallahassee, Florida, or willing to travel there frequently
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with Florida agency directors, legislative staff, and other state leadership.
  • Act as the firm's ambassador to state agencies and relevant government stakeholders.
  • Identify, pursue, and influence potential contracting opportunities in alignment with firm capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with the firm's lobbyist and government services leaders to align relationship-building efforts with strategic objectives.
  • Attend legislative sessions, agency meetings, government-focused conferences, and networking events in Tallahassee and throughout the state.
  • Represent the firm's government services offering at industry conferences, agency events, and political gatherings to enhance visibility and build influence.
  • Support the government services team's business development efforts within Florida local government.
  • Track relationship-building efforts, opportunities, and pipeline activity within the CRM, ensuring key government contacts and engagement history are accurately maintained and leveraged for follow-up.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Provide support to subject matter experts (SMEs) to enhance their ability to engage with clients and prospects in a sales capacity.
  • Ensure SMEs are confident and knowledgeable in the firm's sales process and guide them in tailoring messaging to resonate with target clients.
