Olympic College is in search of a Head Volleyball Coach. This role serves as a key leader within the Olympic College Athletic Department and plays an integral role in advancing the mission of the Division of Student Development and Engagement. This position is responsible for elevating the student-athlete experience by promoting leadership, discipline, and personal growth, while ensuring the effective management of all aspects of the volleyball program. Through strategic oversight of training, competition, travel, and recruitment, the Head Coach supports the Athletic Director’s broader goals of community engagement, strategic planning, and departmental excellence. The Head Volleyball Coach leads and manages all facets of the Olympic College Volleyball program, with a strong emphasis on excellence in both athletic performance and academic achievement. Core responsibilities include :
Designing and implementing comprehensive training and competition schedules
Overseeing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes
Managing program budgets, equipment, and other resources
Ensuring compliance with institutional, conference, and NWAC regulations
Supporting the academic progress and personal development of student-athletes
Collaborating with athletic staff and campus partners to align program goals with college values
Under the guidance of the Athletic Director, the Head Volleyball Coach is responsible for the comprehensive leadership and daily management of Olympic College’s Volleyball program. This includes :
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Minimum of three years of coaching experience in volleyball, preferably at the collegiate level.
Demonstrated experience in managing program operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and regulatory compliance.
Proven success in recruiting and developing student-athletes in alignment with academic and athletic standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Sports Management, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated proficiency in volleyball coaching techniques and athlete development, with a focus on performance optimization and injury prevention.
Ability to contribute to long-term planning and program development strategies that align with institutional goals and promote student-athlete success.
Additional Information
Terms of Employment Assistant Coaches will be paid $8,000 of stipend.
Conditions of Employmen t
Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.
