Description

POSITION OVERVIEW :

The HR Assistant Manager assists the VP of HR with the day-to-day operations of the HR department, including recruitment, benefits, performance, onboarding, employee relations, and policy implementation. They play a crucial role in supporting the HR strategy and ensuring the smooth functioning of the department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Assists the VP, HR with managing human resource operations
  • Plans and organizes workloads. Monitors priorities and schedules as needed to assure work is performed in a timely and efficient manner according to appropriate guidelines, procedures, and legal regulations
  • Performs complex professional, technical and administrative human resources functions which include identifying needs and opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures
  • Coordinates the implementation of human resources policies and procedures; conducts research to assure HR compliance with federal, state and local laws
  • Assisting with job postings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and conducting new hire orientations
  • Addressing employee queries, resolving workplace issues, and ensuring a positive work environment
  • Helping to develop and implement HR policies, ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Assisting with payroll processing, benefits administration, and related tasks
  • Supporting the development and delivery of training programs for employees
  • Assures the maintenance of human resource databases and related employee records systems, and compliance with applicable legal requirements; Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee files, databases, and records
  • Recommends salary ranges, gathering, compiling and analyzing the salary and benefits of comparable positions; analyzing market factor requests and implementing compensation plan changes; develops and revises position descriptions, and evaluation and placement of positions within classifications
  • Monitors employee complaints and / or grievances; prepares correspondence and documentation during the process
  • Assists in the development and / or revisions of the employee performance evaluation system
  • Keeps abreast of new trends and innovations and changes in laws in the field of human resources administration, especially employment and labor relations
  • Appears for scheduled work with regular, reliable and punctual attendance. Establishes and maintains cooperative, effective, and productive working relationships using tact, patience and courtesy
  • Other job duties as assigned

SALARY & BENEFITS :

60,000 - $80,000 per year

  • Requirements

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS :

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in business, psychology, or other relevant course work
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably in healthcare
  • Valid driver's license to travel to other offices, if needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with employees and management
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate records
  • Familiarity with HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • The ability to utilize HR information systems and common office software, Paylocity experience a plus
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive employee information
  • The ability to identify and resolve workplace issues
  • WORKING CONDITIONS :

  • Typical business office environment
  • Possibility of local travel
  • Constant viewing of computer monitor, mousing and typing
  • Frequent standing, walking and sitting
  • Frequent stooping, lifting, carrying and pushing / pulling 10 pounds or more
  • Occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Hours of business are Monday - Friday from 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Must be able to work early, late and long hours, as needed, to meet the essential functions of the job
