Work Schedule : Tuesday and Thursday, 2 : 30pm – 4 : 30pm

$1,304 per credit hour of instruction (paid for 3 credits for the spring semester) or $3,912

Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions scheduled intermittently based on institutional need. Adjuncts are not guaranteed work in any semester and are notified of course assignments prior to each term as courses become available.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY :

Responsible for teaching Hot Glass I / II course in spring semester. The candidate will also have access to the glass studio facilities (which include furnaces, annealers, fusing and casting kilns, benches, lathe, lapidary wheels and belt sander)to create their personal work(outside of student lab times),

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :

Provide effective instruction in the Hot Glass course including creating the syllabus ,course schedule, and ensuring that students meet required class outcomes.

• Provide instructional support to students working in the glass studio spaces during scheduled student times.
• This includes answering questions, providing guidance, and ensuring safety requirements are adhered to.
• Collaborate with the full-time glass faculty member on supporting student needs, and with the 3D studio technician one equipment maintenance and safety measures
• Perform other related work duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH / WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION :

Position involves working in a classroom setting. Occasional (10-33%) sitting, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) standing, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

MA or MFA in Glass, or MA and MFA with 12 graduate credits in glass.
