About the Role

The Company is seeking a Controller, Vice President to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of general accounting functions, including the preparation and analysis of financial statements, external reporting, accounts payable, fixed assets, and general ledger reconciliations. This role requires a high degree of initiative, discretion, and independent judgment, as well as advanced knowledge of accounting principles and bank operations. The Controller will also ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and banking regulations, and will be involved in staff supervision, training, and evaluation.

Candidates for the Controller, Vice President position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business, with a preference for a CPA license. A minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience, particularly within a financial institution, is required. The role demands a strong understanding of GAAP, proficiency in accounting systems and PC applications, and advanced knowledge of budgeting, payroll, and financial recordkeeping. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to make effective decisions and solve problems. The Controller will also be expected to maintain confidentiality, act with integrity, and ensure compliance with safety and diversity standards.
