First American is looking to add a Sr. Commercial Title Officer to our growing Energy group. In this role, you will work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting supporting the team in various ways including performing title searches for commercial transactions ranging from single site to high-liability multi-site, analyzing records and data, and contributing key information critical to the transaction process. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating the resolution and completion of the commercial title process. What You'll Do Examine all classes of title searches, including complex orders such as insurance of commercial leaseholds, trust indentures, contracts, operating agreements, and other property interests. Act as an advisor; resolve unique and complex situations. Reconcile title problems and investigate loss claims. May lead a team of examiners, searchers, or other title staff; provide input on staff selection and performance feedback. Analyze records like mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, plat and map books, and property surveys to determine ownership, legal restrictions, and verify legal descriptions. Assess the impact of probate, foreclosures, court cases, and bankruptcy proceedings on title insurance. Review and approve documentation such as deeds, operating agreements, trusts, wills, affidavits of heirships, corporate resolutions, partnership agreements, and filed Articles of Incorporation / Organization. Select appropriate write-ups for commitments and policies for standard and extended coverage. Build and maintain business partnerships with clients. Participate in business development, client retention, and attend customer visits or training. Utilize technical bulletins and resources to evaluate and resolve issues. Price commitments, endorsements, policies, and guarantees as per fee schedules. In some regions, consult with attorneys on search packages and escalation matters. Provide underwriting interpretation within guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned. What You Bring High School diploma or equivalent. 5-7 years of commercial title experience. Proven mastery of a wide range of title issues through extensive experience. Familiarity with all aspects of title work. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
