Senior Computer Aided Design Technician

Job Title : Drafting / CAD Technician II

Location : 3050 North Franklin Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073

Work Environment : 100% Onsite

Schedule : Standard 40 hours / week (Onsite)

Position Summary

The Drafting / CAD Technician II is responsible for maintaining, creating, and managing technical drawings used across the facility. This position plays a critical role in supporting daily operations, manufacturing improvements, and cost-reduction initiatives. The technician will partner closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations teams to develop equipment designs, update drawing packages, and ensure accurate documentation throughout the facility.

Important Note :

The client requires candidates specifically trained in CAD , preferably with a 2-year technical degree focused on CAD or drafting. Candidates with higher engineering degrees who have only taken limited CAD coursework will not be considered , as this role is hands-on CAD-focused and not suitable for engineering-track career paths.

Key Responsibilities

Drawing & Documentation Management

• Maintain, organize, and coordinate all plant technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and version control.
• Manage drawing accessibility across the facility through proper archiving and documentation practices.
• Ensure all project-related documentation—including drawings, spare parts lists, procedures, and schedules—is complete and accurate.
