Job description

Head of Operations – Advanced Energy Storage & UPS

  • Austin, TX
  • Hybrid Working Environment
  • Up To $185,000 Per Year + Bonus + Benefits Package

We’re hiring a Head of Operations for a fast-growing engineering company in Austin whose battery-free energy storage systems are reshaping the future of backup power.

Serving mission-critical sectors like data centers, healthcare, and manufacturing, the company’s proprietary technology delivers sustainability, instant response, minimal maintenance, and zero toxic waste. These large, complex, engineered-to-order systems are built to last for decades in the field, with over a gigawatt deployed across over 50 countries.

As Head of Operations, you will lead all factory and field operations covering manufacturing, supply chain, quality, aftermarket service, facilities, and cross-company project management. You’ll oversee a multidisciplinary team spanning production and service functions, ensuring strategic alignment with engineering, sales, and finance.

You Will Be...

  • Leading day-to-day operations with a focus on quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
  • Driving Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Acting as the company’s ISO 9001 Management Representative and Health & Safety Officer.
  • Delivering high-quality, responsive field service support worldwide.
  • Overseeing project delivery across both customer orders and internal initiatives.
  • Leading capital investment planning, budgeting, and KPI reporting.

    • What You’ll Bring...

  • Strong background in operations leadership for large and complex capital equipment, data center, or critical power electronics firms, ideally UPS.
  • Deep experience managing supply chain, manufacturing, and field service in an engineering-led business.
  • Fluency in ISO 9001, OSHA compliance, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong grasp of operational finance, project management, and team development.
  • Familiarity with long-life, field-deployed systems, especially in power, energy, or heavy industry.
