Must-Have :

All travelers must take and pass a cardiac rhythm exam.

RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.

Description :

The unit includes a float pool with MedSurg and Telemetry patients.

Common diagnoses include CHF, cardiac catheterization, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic cases, and oncology patients.

Traveling nurses will mainly float to specific units with varying numbers of beds.

Patient-to-nurse ratios typically range from 1 : 5-6 during most shifts.

There is a charge nurse available on all shifts, with responsibilities including patient care during night shifts.

Certified nursing assistants are utilized to support nursing staff.

Respiratory treatments are managed by respiratory therapists.

All units include telemetry monitoring with specific equipment requirements.

The organization implements a rotating holiday schedule for all staff members.

Weekends are required, with travelers expected to work every other weekend.

The facility follows a designated dress code with specified scrub colors for different roles.

Travelers will receive initial orientation and will have a preceptor during their first shifts to facilitate integration into the unit.
