As a Legal Intern you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in NetApps culture and day-to-day operations. You will join a team that spans multiple sites and develop an understanding of what it takes to run a global corporate legal department and what in-house counsel do each day. This position is within NetApps Legal team and will focus on the following practice areas : Contract Management and Negotiations; Legal Operations; Intellectual Property; Compliance and Employment; Government Relations; Data Privacy and Governance; Global Trade Compliance; Litigation; Corporate and Securities.

Job Requirements

Understanding the various teams within The Legal Department their roles and how they support the enterprise.

Shadowing in-house counsel and legal professionals while gaining exposure to and participating in various legal projects and workstreams across the team which may include but is not limited to :

Negotiating NDAs and technology contracts with opposing counsel

Supporting various business units and advising on risk tolerance and interpreting contract terms

Creating and managing templates that transactional attorneys use on a daily basis

Interpreting contractual issues that arise throughout the summer

Reviewing patent applications

Assisting patent litigation

Testing and implementing new tools and technologies within the department

Any other special projects that may arise

Preferred Skills :

Eager to learn and a strong desire to grow and expand knowledge in the corporate and in-house legal world

Ability to use the skills that are currently being gained in law school to build a strong foundation for a legal career

A passion for evangelizing integrity ethics and compliance.

Cross-cultural sensitivity and intellect

Strong negotiation skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients throughout NetApp as well as legal department colleagues worldwide

Good written and verbal communication skills with an ability to work both independently and with colleagues as needed

Good legal analytical judgment organizational advocacy and program management skills.

Additional Details :

• Job Posting Info : This is a pipeline position that will be opened on a recurring basis and used to fill roles aligned with the required skill sets. All resumes will be carefully reviewed; however there may be a delay in our response.
• Program Dates : This is a 10-12 weekinternship with start dates in May or June efforts will be ongoing until specific teams find an ideal match.

Experience

Must be enrolled in an educational or professional program through summer 2026or later.
