Summary : Performs diagnostic
procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in
accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with
the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Responsibilities :
Prepares equipment and
supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging
parameters. Applies safety standards and performs appropriate
quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves,
and / or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Ensures proper
working order of equipment.Positions patient and performs imaging
procedure(s). Analyzes imaging results and takes appropriate action
to improve image quality for optimal results. Enters, transmits,
and reports thorough comprehensive preliminary report of study data
to physician staff.Coordinates patient care with other members of
the healthcare team to ensure effective and efficient patient care
delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.When
applicable, prepares and administers ultrasound enhancing agents
(UEA) and / or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient
condition and reports changes in status as align with department
policy.May travel to satellite locations to perform diagnostic
procedures.Performs advanced diagnostic imaging (3D, myocardial
mechanics, mechanical circulatory support devices, transcatheter
therapies, etc.), when applicable.Reviews patient history and
physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures,
equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and
cooperation.

Work Experience : Adult EchocardiographyOne (1) year of experience
working in an IAC accredited institution. In lieu of one year of
experience, will accept credentialed new grads (within 1 year of
graduation).Pediatric Echocardiography (Joe DiMaggio
Children's Hospital)One (1) year of experience imaging
congenital heart defect and surgical repairs in an IAC accredited
institution. In lieu of experience, will accept new grads (within 1
year of graduation). Must obtain credential within six (6) months
of starting the position.Other Information : Education : Graduate of
an accredited ultrasound imaging program.An appropriate credential
in Echocardiography : Adult Echocardiography@@Registered as a
