A large manufacturer in the Newburg area is in need of multiple experienced Progressive Die Operators on 2nd shift. This is a full-time temp-to-hire position. Schedule / hours are : Mon-Thurs, 4 pm to 2 : 30 am; OT on Fri when needed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machinery and tools, ensuring the production process runs smoothly and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of tooling, programming, and the ability to work with both CNC machines and hand tools.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Wears all required safety equipment and ensures the area and environment is safe
- Operates, monitors, and helps maintain machine / equipment (press, welders, cranes, forklifts, etc.)
- Feeds equipment and tooling
- Performs or assists in die changes
- Move parts and products to appropriate positions
- Perform daily operational checks to ensure safety
- Perform quality checks and verify quality (first, middle, and last offs, PQI books, SPC, etc.)
- Assist quality and maintenance personnel with issues related to production
- Conduct daily cleaning of work area
- Repair product as required
- Identify and document problems, set goals, track progress, and work with teams to implement solutions
- Report issues and concerns to the Team Leader or the Supervisor
- Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems and Environmental Management System standards
- Watch for potential concerns or issues
- Train other operators and document in matrix
- Be self-directed and encourage continuous improvement through involvement and input
- Meet production efficiencies and maintain quality checks
- Tag and move parts, containers, and totes
- Process coil paperwork as required
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Maintain focus and attention on the press at all times while in operation
- Remove scrap from the press area and place it in the proper locations
- Ability to drive a forklift or ability to learn how to drive a forklift
- Band and shrink wrap materials
- Maintain an accurate count of parts produced
Qualifications, Skills & Education Requirements :

The work environment characteristics are as described; while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to varied temperatures due to working in a non-air-conditioned facility. In addition, the employee is regularly exposed to oil, grease, dust, odors, fumes, loud noise environment, and may work near moving mechanical parts. The work environment is not climate-controlled.

Diploma / GED
Minimum of 1 year of progressive die experience in a stamping facility
