POSITION SUMMARY :
The Director, Financial Reporting is directly responsible for the oversight and management of the monthly, quarterly, and annual external reporting needs of the Company and will also oversee the research and implementation of complex technical accounting matters.
Work Schedule : This role is offered on a fully remote basis allowing the Director Financial Reporting to be based anywhere in the country.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Prepare and review external monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, forms, statements, and disclosures, including reports to joint venture partners, consolidated financial statements, and other ad hoc reports and presentations as needed for internal and external use, and in a timely manner.
- Assess and implement additional reporting requirements where needed, including but not limited to dashboards and consolidated bridges.
- Review executive financial statements prepared for internal management, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Compile financial results for presentation to Company executives with prepared explanations for any high-level commentary and consolidated bridges.
- Complete quarterly balance sheet reviews, providing explanations for any metric variances.
- Work with Actuaries in the analysis and recording of complex judgmental reserves, including but not limited to malpractice insurance, health IBNR, and worker’s comp.
- Oversee the research of technical accounting matters and provide recommended conclusions to management along with implementation guidelines.
- Prepare cash flow statements and required documentation.
- Ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance.
- Provide US GAAP interpretations, prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical, and comprehensive manner, and provide recommendations for their implementation.
- Provide technical guidance on new acquisitions regarding the impact to our consolidation; specifically in light of ASC 805 : Consolidations.
- Partner with accounting team members to support and review period closes.
- Partner with others in the department and across the entity as needed on special or ad hoc projects.
- Work with others in the organization to ensure the reporting tools support our internal reporting requirements; work with other disciplines to develop appropriate reports when needed.
- Recommend and implement process improvements in areas of responsibility.
- Manage special projects and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :

Education / Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited College or University; Master’s degree preferred.CPA required.8-10 years’ experience in public accounting and / or the accounting industry.4+ years with a public accounting firm in the audit practice, with heavy exposure to SEC financial reporting required.Excellent knowledge of US GAAP combined with the ability to research and propose on Company positions regarding complex accountingAccounting software, Workiva preferred.Windows based spreadsheet / word processing package.Healthcare experience highly preferred.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS :
Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be able to work well with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. Must pass a background check and drug screen.
