Healthcare Underwriter | Kansas City, MO

LHH is working with a client in the Kansas City, MO area who is seeking to hire a Healthcare Underwriter. This role is responsible for evaluating health-related risk factors and determining appropriate coverage terms and pricing for group and individual healthcare policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical underwriting principles, regulatory compliance, and risk assessment methodologies. Our ideal candidate would have AT LEAST 5 YEARS of Medical Underwriting experience- specifically healthcare.

Responsibilities :

• Review and assess health statements, medical records, and other documentation to evaluate risk.
• Determine eligibility and pricing for healthcare insurance applicants.
• Collaborate with brokers, agents, and internal teams to gather necessary information and communicate underwriting decisions.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
• Provide recommendations for policy terms, exclusions, and coverage limits based on risk analysis.
