Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for a comprehensive fiduciary tax assignment that will consist of all aspects involved with the preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns, estimated payments and projections for non‑grantor trusts, grantor trusts, charitable remainder trusts and private foundations
- Working in a group setting, this role will include the responsibility of reviewing and mentoring the work of junior staff
- Work closely with senior members of the fiduciary tax group, client account managers, new business advisors, clients and outside advisors with the opportunity to get involved with planning and consulting projects for clients and prospects
- Research various federal and state tax issues, utilizing internet research tools
- Correspond with various tax authorities
- Analyze and interpret trust instruments and other pertinent documents, including GST analysis
Qualifications
10+ years fiduciary tax experience requiredBachelor’s degree required, CPA a plusGood computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and ExcelFamiliarity with CCH Axcess and OneSource tax software a plusExperience with Hedge fund K-1’s, ESBT’s and state nexus issues a plusExperience with federal and state e‑filings and e‑payments a plusClear communicator with good writing skillsAbility to work effectively under pressureHighly motivated self‑starterWell organized and attentive to detailGood Listener and able to think on their feetAbility to work in a team structureStrong organizational skills (able to handle multiple priorities)Ability to adapt to various changesAbout Bessemer Trust
