General DescriptionThe RN is responsible for providing direct patient\ncare within the scope of their practice.\nThe position is one of providing direct patient care to women in labor,\nthrough delivery, postpartum, and to provide direct care to the newborn. Assuring all aspects of maternal childcare.ResponsibilityPerforming assessments, monitoring process of\nlabor, preparing for C-sections, inductions, and proper documentation of\nnursing care. Administer care during\nlabor, post-delivery, and postpartum including infant care and providing\npatient education. Prepares delivery\nroom, provides emotional support, and coordinates transfers. Administer IV medications, adhere to\nprinciples of infection control and general policies of OB department. Knowledge and / or interest in obstetrics and\nequipment.AccountabilityThe RN reports directly to the New Beginnings Birth\nCenter Manager.Special DemandsPhysical : Long periods of standing,\nwalking, and heavy lifting. Exposure to\nblood and body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells and infectious diseases\npossible.QualificationsEducation : RN graduate with current\nColorado licensure. Must have current CPR certification. Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS\nwithin one year of employment.Experience : 4 years experience in Obstetrics care preferred.Skills : Knowledge of or interest in\nlearning labor, delivery, postpartum and nursing care essentials. Principles of sterile technique and infection\ncontrol. Skilled in technical aspects of mother / infant care. Able to perform\neffectively in highly stressful situations. Able to interact effectively with a\nwide variety of people and have good communication skills.Working EnvironmentFull Time working 36 hours per week, 7 : 00p to 7 : 00a. May rotate shifts and areas as staffing and\ncensus requires\nOn call required.

Catalytic Solutions Job ID #4-292237. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
