Gastroenterology Locums Job in Massachusetts On Call Starting Mid-December Assignment

Coverage Details :

Start mid-December 2025 until permanent physician is hired

Reason for coverage : Retirement

Shift Description :

Friday 4 PM Friday 4 PM

Call structure at MMC approximately 1 : 4

Coverage includes Floor, ED, ICU, emergent consults, and endoscopies (as needed)

Carry beeper overnight

Requirements :

Board Certified / Board Eligible (BC preferred)

Active MA license

BLS

ERCP certification preferred but not required

Required Procedures :

Esophageal Dilatation / Manometry & Interpretation

Small Bowel Biopsy

Lower GI Endoscopy (Sigmoidoscopy, Colonoscopy)

Liver Biopsy

Upper GI Endoscopy (Diagnostic & Therapeutic) including :

Biopsy

Foreign Body Removal

Fulguration of Bleeder (Cautery vs. Laser)

Injection / Banding of Varices

PEG placement

Clinical Details :

Adult, Hospital, Gastroenterology, Endoscopy

Average hospital-based patients per day : 4 12

Group size : 4 physicians

Onsite lab and X-ray available

Outpatient coverage : Not required

EMR : EPIC
