About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its environmental advocacy efforts, with a focus on plastic pollution. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive 5-year strategic plan to double the organization's impact and revenue. This role requires a visionary leader who can position the company as the preeminent voice on science-based plastic pollution solutions, engage in national and international policy forums, and build cross-sector alliances to advance systemic solutions. The Executive Director will also be tasked with championing the company's scientific integrity, guiding advocacy strategy, and overseeing board governance and leadership.
Applicants must have at least 10 years' of progressive leadership experience in the conservation or environmental field, with a proven track record in fundraising, partnership building, and scaling organizations. The role demands a bold advocate with deep expertise in plastic pollution or related fields, an entrepreneurial vision, and a strong commitment to science-based solutions and environmental justice. The ideal candidate will have a background in scientific research, experience in high-stakes advocacy, and the ability to translate complex concepts into compelling messages. Financial acumen, political savvy, and excellent communication skills are essential. The position is based in a hybrid office / remote setting and requires up to 40% travel for various engagements.
