Position : Certified Pharmacy Technician

Location : West Sacramento, CA 95605

Duration : 3 months Contract with potential for temp-to-hire conversion

Work Type : Onsite

Pay Rate : $26 / hour

Schedule : Monday–Friday; after 4 weeks, schedule may change to Sunday–Thursday based on business needs (Sunday : 8 : 00 AM–4 : 30 PM, Monday–Thursday : 1 : 30 PM–10 : 00 PM). Mandatory overtime may be required.

Overview

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to accurately and efficiently fill prescription requests in a high-volume automated refill environment. Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, this individual will prepare, package, and distribute medications in a fast-paced production setting while maintaining precision, focus, and compliance with all quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately fill prescription vials with prescribed tablets and capsules according to computer-generated instructions.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations to determine correct medication quantities.
• Replenish automated dispensing cells, scanning product barcodes and entering expiration and lot details.
• Conduct quality assurance checks for expired or damaged products to prevent cross-contamination.
• Assist with inventory audits and weekly cycle counts, including root cause analysis for discrepancies.
• Prepare and handle cold chain and specialty prescriptions according to proper handling and packing protocols.
• Support packing and shipping operations while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements.
• Identify and escalate workflow or process issues to management as needed.
