About The Position

Position : Electrophysiologist - IA - Locums

Schedule & Workload

• Start : As soon as Credentialed

Shifts per month : 20

Clinic hours : 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday through Friday

Shift length : 8 hours

Procedure / OR days : 2 to 3 per week

On-call : Shared call with 3 interventionalists

Telehealth : Available

Outreach Clinics : Up to 2 days / month at Hawarden, Ida Grove, Primghar, Kingsley (IA), and Winnebago (NE)

Clinical Responsibilities

Inpatient care : Yes

Clinic visits : New and established patients (20-25 daily)

Hospital census : 10-20 cardiology patients daily

Appointment length : 15-30 minutes

EP procedures : Ablations (AFib, AFlutter, SVT, PVC, VT), EP studies, device monitoring and programming (pacemakers, ICDs, loop recorders), TEE, cardioversions, device insertions and generator changes

Supervision : Expected to supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs); 1 physician : 1 nurse ratio

Ancillary staff : 2 per provider; 5 exam rooms per provider

EMR system : Cerner Powerchart

Team

Physicians : 3

Advanced Practice Providers : 5 (including an EP PA assisting with patient volume and post-procedure care)

Job Requirements

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Electrophysiology (Fellowship trained) – REQUIRED

Active Iowa medical license or IMLC with Letter of Qualification – REQUIRED

Minimum 2 weeks per month – REQUIRED
