Employment Type : Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner (Travel Contract)

Start Date : December 15, 2025 (ASAP start available)

Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (potential for ongoing coverage)

Weekly Hours : 36

Shift Schedule : 12-hour shifts (7a-7a; rotation may vary)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $3390–$4010

On-Site Orientation : Monthly (next dates : 1 / 29, 2 / 26, 3 / 26)

Trauma Level : II

Pediatric Level : III

Nurse Practitioner Qualifications

Active North Carolina Nurse Practitioner license (or eligibility to obtain)

Minimum 1 year of acute care nurse practitioner experience (cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery preferred)

Experience in operating room, rounding on floors and ICU, and post-op clinic coverage

Board Certified or Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner

Current ACLS and BLS certifications

Prepared for full hospital credentialing (60-90 days)

Ability to attend on-site orientation in Hickory, NC

Primary Responsibilities – Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Deliver comprehensive acute care for cardiovascular surgery patients

Assist in the operating room and perform patient rounds on floors and ICU

Provide post-operative clinic coverage at least one day per week and as needed

Participate in first call coverage during assigned nurse practitioner shifts

Collaborate with physicians, physician assistants, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Support continuity of care and stable rotation coverage for cardiovascular patients
