Join our esteemed Operating Room Team! Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center is the largest hospital in Wisconsin, renowned for its innovative care and on-site heart-care team available 24 / 7. We take pride in providing exceptional medical services to patients from across various backgrounds.
Schedule / Hours : This full-time position requires evening shifts, with flexibility in 8 or 10-hour shifts, typically Monday to Friday, along with call obligations. Call requirements generally include overnight shifts and a 1 or 2 weekend shifts within an 8-week scheduling window, with an expectation of response within 30 minutes.
Key Responsibilities :
Maintain a clean and efficient environment for optimal patient care while using aseptic techniques for surgical preparation tasks.Demonstrate knowledge of various surgical procedures and perform tasks accordingly.Manage the operating room's cleanliness and safety, including equipment setup and breakdown.Fulfill the role of Second Assistant as needed during surgeries.Report issues related to equipment and supplies promptly.Assist in patient transport and position patients safely during procedures.Ensure specialty carts and items are stocked and ready for use.Exemplify knowledge of age-specific care and demonstrate skills tailored to different patient requirements.Required Qualifications :
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, to be acquired within 6 months of hire (if not required by department leader).No prior surgical technologist experience is necessary.Desired Skills and Abilities :
Proficiency in aseptic techniques and understanding of operating room equipment.Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.Basic computer skills.Commitment to continuous learning and maintaining certification standards.Physical Requirements :
