Where you will work : This position will be based out of Astound’s Framingham, MA office.

A Day in the Life of the Broadband Network Technician :

Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages in the outside cable plant

Emergency coax and fiber restoration

Underground and aerial cable troubleshooting

System Maintenance of fiber nodes, amplifiers and system power supplies

Signal Leakage of coaxial system including drop to residences

Coaxial Splicing

95% of day is working aloft in bucket truck

Working outside year-round, all types of elements

Documentation

Participation in a 24 / 7 on-call rotation

Other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Table :

Experience : 2+ years minimum with coax and fiber

Competencies : Maintain satisfactory driving record and have a valid driver's license; Customer Service, Communication (verbal, written), Basic Computer Skills; Aptitude to learn to skills; Problem solving; Time Management; Teamwork; Working alone; Ability to read and interpret maps; Bucket Certified; Ohm’s; Understand the Outside Plant

Physical Requirements :

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs

Standing and walking for extended periods of time

Working aloft up to 30' in a bucket truck

Education and Certifications :

High School Diploma or equivalent

The base salary in Massachusetts for this position is $26.44 - $28.85 per hour plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to Massachusetts and may not be applicable to other locations.
