Medical Surgical Patient Care Assistant II - PRN

Medical Surgical CNA

We are seeking a Medical Surgical CNA, also referred to Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Med-Surg CNA. A Med Surg CNA will assist with patient care by supporting daily activities, mobility, feeding, and vital signs while monitoring for any changes. Additionally, the Med Surg CNA, will help nurses by maintaining supplies, assisting with wound care, and ensuring a clean, safe environment. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD / PRN as needed.

Shifts Available : Nights

Employment Type : Per Diem (PD / PRN)

Location : Harlingen Medical Center - Harlingen, Texas

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to) :

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have :

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

2. Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.)

3. Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.

4. Current BLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current

5. Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician preferred.

6. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.

7. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.

8. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

9. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.
