Position Overview :
The Director of Client Delivery is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of enterprise software solutions across large-scale government and commercial healthcare contracts, often exceeding $100M+ in total value. This role demands a highly organized, technically conversant, and strategically oriented leader who can manage cross-functional teams, ensure contractual delivery, and interface directly with senior customer executives to align technical execution with business goals.
This individual will lead multi-disciplinary delivery teams across engineering, quality assurance, product, and implementation functions. A deep understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies, State Medicaid systems, population health programs, and enterprise data architecture is essential.
Key Responsibilities :
Program Oversight & Delivery Excellence
- Drive the successful delivery of enterprise healthcare platforms and services within contractual scope, budget, and timeline.
- Oversee planning, execution, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication for $100M+ software delivery engagements.
- Ensure all contract deliverables, performance metrics, and service level agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded.
Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
Act as the primary delivery liaison to state and payer executives, technology leaders, and operational stakeholders.Communicate delivery progress, risks, mitigation plans, and strategic alignment to customer and internal executives.Lead executive Steering Committee sessions, providing thought leadership and delivery transparency.Team Leadership & Organizational Management
Manage and mentor a diverse team of software engineers, QA analysts, product owners, and delivery managers.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across globally distributed teams.Recruit, onboard, and retain high-performing team members while enabling professional growth and career progression.Agile Delivery & Operational Execution
Establish and scale Agile delivery practices (Scrum, SAFe, or hybrid) across multiple product lines and teams.Ensure cross-functional alignment between Product Management, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Implementation teams.Track delivery KPIs such as velocity, sprint / release burndown, defect resolution time, and system uptime.Technology & Architecture Oversight
Provide technical guidance and architectural insight across platforms involving :ETL pipelines, data ingestion, and real-time processingModular SaaS components, APIs, and FHIR / HIPAA-compliant data modelsSystem integration, reporting dashboards, and workflow orchestrationWork closely with enterprise architects and solution designers to ensure scalable and supportable system architecture.Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure robust quality engineering practices, including test automation, performance testing, and UAT coordination.Monitor compliance with CMS, HIPAA, and other state / federal regulatory frameworks.Required Qualifications :
10+ years of experience in software client delivery, at least 5 years in a senior leadership roleProven experience delivering technology solutions for State Medicaid, commercial health plans, or population health managementDemonstrated success in managing contracts exceeding $100M in valueStrong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile / Scrum / SAFe frameworksWorking knowledge of ETL, data integration, API design, clinical data standards, and basic system architectureExperience managing large cross-functional teams (50+), including distributed and offshore resourcesExceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including direct interface with C-level and government executivesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities
