Safety Manager

Our client, a leading food distributor , is seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to lead compliance initiatives, enhance workplace safety, and ensure smooth operations across its fleet. This role is crucial in protecting their team, securing their supply chain, and maintaining industry-leading safety standards.

Your Mission :

• Develop & Implement Safety Programs – Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, FMCSA, FDA, USDA, Homeland Security, and other regulatory bodies while creating a safe work environment.
• Accident Reporting & Risk Management – Oversee incident investigations, claims management, and risk assessments to minimize workplace, as well as transport hazards and financial impact.
• Drive Compliance Excellence – Conduct audits, track safety scorecards, manage safety training, and ensure regulatory adherence across operations.
• Champion Workforce Health & Safety – Collaborate with medical professionals, monitor financial safety initiatives, and reduce lost workdays and OSHA-recordable incidents.
• Strengthen Relationships – Foster trust through open communication with employees, vendors, customers, and external agencies.
• Optimize Safety Policies – Analyze and refine protocols to enhance associate and driver well-being.

What They’re Looking For :

Experience & Education :

High School Diploma required 3+ years of Occupational & Transportation Safety experience. 2+ years of experience as a Safety Manager (or strong Supervisor).

Specialized Knowledge :

Risk-based safety expertise. Fleet Safety / DOT Compliance knowledge. Driver Management Systems experience (Smith System preferred). Certifications in safety management are an advantage.

Additional Requirements :

Ability to travel daily within the local market. Active driver’s license (CDL a major plus).
