Position Purpose :

The Oncology Nurse oversees and delivers the care of the patient with hematologic / oncologic diagnoses within the statues of the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act. Works with and follows the clinical direction of the Medical Oncologist / Hematologist to provide cancer treatment care.
Key Responsibilities
Assessing Patients

Education : Associate Degree in Nursing or graduate of a Nursing Diploma program

Responsible for maintaining clinical trials program at the cancer center as required by the State of Arizona and practice parameters specified in ACOS / ACR / ASTRO accreditation for medical and radiation oncology departments.Ensures all departmental policies are metDemonstrates submission of accurate billing / treatment information and documentation to ensure compliance with related billing charges as related to clinical trials.Respond promptly to all patient complaints.Maintain an understanding of the basic and clinical research efforts of the department.Work closely with the medical director in the administration of extramurally funded programs.Adheres to patient confidentiality, understands the necessity for maintaining confidentiality for all sensitive oral, paper-based and electronic information and restricts the flow of such information to those who have a legitimate "need to know"Demonstrates patient and customer focus by treating patients and others we serve as a top priority and by meeting or exceeding their expectations.Contributes ideas / suggestions and participates in activities for improving processes and services to our patients and customers.Participates in evaluating and monitoring feedback from patients and customers for improving the unit's efficiency.Education :
