This position is responsible for implementing training for professionals and a broad array of community groups on awareness, prevention, and reporting of child abuse. The Community Educator will deliver all aspects of the center's child abuse prevention / education programs for adults and children through the Independent School Districts and other community groups. This position actively pursues opportunities in the community for the agency to present child abuse prevention education and outreach. This position coordinates with community partners for grant implementation. With a primary focus of presenting to students within Denton, Wise and Jack County school districts, the expected work hours for this position will be aligned with a typical school day from 7 : 30 AM - 3 : 30 PM. This position may sometimes but not always consist of two evenings per month, in which work hours will vary for a week where evenings may apply.
Essential Functions
Travel
This position is based in the Lewisville, TX office. The candidate must travel to all counties served by the agency (Denton, Wise, and Jack Counties) since this position will be engaging with the community. This position frequently requires evening hours and occasional weekend work.
Education and Training
Bachelor's degree in education, family sciences, psychology, or a related field required.
