Reporting to the Executive Director, within Gilead’s U.S. HIV Prevention Business Unit, the Senior Director, Consumer Marketing – Market Expansion will lead the creation and execution of a new consumer engagement model designed to increase awareness and drive demand for HIV prevention treatment among underserved and naïve populations.
We are looking for a visionary builder—a strategic leader who is passionate about social impact, deeply understands consumer behavior, and excels at navigating ambiguity. The successful candidate will craft innovative, culturally relevant strategies that close the awareness gap and foster sustained behavioral change.
This position is onsite at our campus in Foster City, CA (Tuesday - Thursday).
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead a consumer strategy focused on new market activation and health equity.
- Build innovative engagement models across digital, social, grassroots, and influencer channels.
- Translate insights into authentic messaging that meets consumers where they are.
- Lead campaign creation and manage media and agency performance to KPIs.
- Partner across HCP, Community Liaisons, Public Affairs, Medical, and Access to ensure cohesive execution.
- Ensure cultural fluency and representation in all consumer-facing materials.
- Serve as the voice of the consumer in executive forums and planning cycles.
- Bachelor’s Degree & 14+ years of consumer marketing experience in healthcare, public health, or mission-driven industries.
- Proven track record of building new audience segments and launching in white space.
- Exceptional strategic, creative, and leadership abilities.
- Deep knowledge of media, grassroots, and behavior change marketing.
- Strong equity lens with demonstrated cultural competency.
