Position : Librarian

Responsibilities :

• Demonstrate a love for God and His children.
• Incorporate a Biblical worldview into every part of the day.
• Create a library culture and environment that is Christ-centered, welcoming, friendly, filled with joy, curiosity, and care.
• Curate, organize, and maintain a developmentally appropriate library collection, including books, periodicals, and digital resources.
• Ensure materials reflect diverse cultures and perspectives, and align with the school’s Christian principles.
• Maintain accurate records of circulation and inventory.
• Teach library and research skills to students in grades Pre-K through 5th.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the classroom curriculum.
• Encourage a love of reading through engaging read-alouds, book talks, and reading challenges.
• Teach and promote digital citizenship, guiding students to use media and information responsibly.
• Assist students in developing research and critical thinking skills using print and online sources.
• Plan and promote literacy events such as book fairs, author visits, and reading nights.
• Communicate regularly with staff about library programs and resources. Communicate regularly with families about library programming and how to support reading at home.
• Actively participate as a member of the school community by attending events, staff meetings, discipleship, and other opportunities.
• Establish clear expectations and procedures to maintain a welcoming library environment, ensuring everyone feels safe while safeguarding the library space.
• Demonstrate a commitment to personal, professional, and spiritual growth.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal.
