Job Title : Grant-Funded Position for TRIO Educational Opportunity Center
The TRIO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is a federally funded program at CSU Pueblo with the primary purpose of assisting individuals who are low-income and / or potential first-generation college students in gaining access to higher education.
This grant-funded position is responsible for the general oversight of the EOC offices in Pueblo, Trinidad, La Junta / Lamar, Colorado Springs, Fort Carson and for providing in-person services to participants on the CSU Pueblo Campus. Supports Director in accomplishing management tasks and fills in for the Director in their absence. Position is responsible for accomplishing site goals and following established procedures and federal guidelines. This position directly supervises site coordinators and part-time advisors at the program's offices in Pueblo, Trinidad, La Junta / Lamar, Colorado Springs, and Fort Carson. This position is also responsible for conducting outreach to community agencies and high schools with the purpose of disseminating information about college and identifying participants for the program. In addition, responsible for recruiting a minimum of 75 eligible participants per year. Routine travel between Pueblo and Colorado Springs as well as other locations within the program's service area is required. The individual will occasionally be required to work evenings and weekends as the work schedule is based upon program needs which at times may require nights and weekends and may change as needed. This position is not eligible for remote work. This position is currently funded by the TRIO EOC grant until August 31st, 2026. Continuation of the position after this date is contingent on grant renewal from the Department of Education and the successful meeting of grant objectives.
Primary Duties : Provide in-person services to program participants including, providing information about college, and careers; assistance in applying for college admissions, student financial aid and scholarships; referrals to college readiness and GED programs and community agencies. Perform client intakes, determine eligibility, select participants, assess services needed to achieve educational goals, and develop participant service plan. Direct supervision of employees supporting Pueblo, Trinidad, La Junta / Lamar, Colorado Springs and Fort Carson sites, including evaluating performance, facilitating staff meetings, and training. Assist Director with operational management of programs and special projects. Assist with the management of the EOC Central Office. This includes coordination with offices on campus, responding to inquiries, scheduling appointments and supervision of student employees. Plan and implement community outreach in assigned service area. This includes individual and group meetings, representing the program at events, and conducting workshops for potential participants, parents and staff members of community organizations, secondary and post-secondary institutions. Assist Director in APR preparation and completion : Enter information about participants and services provided into database and maintain filing system for all participant files, ensuring files are complete and in order. Track participant progress in completing critical tasks identified in the participant service plan, including enrollment of participants in postsecondary education.
Ancillary Duties : Attend professional development conferences and training. Other duties as assigned.
