Business Intelligence / Report Developer

Summary :

The Business Intelligence / Report Developer turns raw data into actionable insights for business users and translate requirements into effective data models and visualizations. Responsible for new report development and maintenance and support for existing reporting solutions, this position involves extensive collaboration with the development team and end users to design, document, develop, test and deliver effective and efficient business solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data warehousing, business intelligence and reporting tools, coupled with a strong analytical mindset.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to) :

• Reporting and Analysis : Maintain the portfolio of existing reporting solutions, establishing and implementing a prioritized upgrade schedule to enforce current design and development standards.
• Design and Development Standards : Define and document a consistent framework for producing high-quality, impactful and maintainable reporting solutions.
• Requirements Gathering : Work with business users to gather, define, and document requirements for new data and reporting initiatives.
• Solution Development : Design, build and maintain comprehensive Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, including SSRS reports, Power BI dashboards and paginated reports, and ad-hoc queries.
• Collaboration and Deployment : Partner with the IT Infrastructure team to deploy solutions, configure security and provide technical application support.
• Change Management : Manage and maintain all objects within the change control management systems (Team Foundation Server and GIT).
• Process Improvement : Establish and document standards for the development, testing and deployment lifecycle, ensuring all solutions are efficient, scalable and supportable.
• Training and Support : Conduct training and provide technical support to business power users and subject matter experts, empowering them to effectively leverage data models and reporting tools.
• Data Quality Assurance : Proactively identify, communicate and resolve issues related to data quality and reconciliation.
• Stakeholder Relations : Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with both internal teams and business stakeholders.
