Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years of acute care experience and a current state license for a 13-week assignment.
Responsibilities
Position is in an acute care setting with both inpatient and outpatient roles availableWork with a diverse population including orthopedic, neurological, pediatric, bariatric, ICU, cardiac, and rehab patientsTypical diagnoses include spinal cord injury, stroke, brain injury, orthopedic, medical / surgical, and long-term vented casesDay shifts, Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m., 8-hour shiftsWeekend requirement includes working either every Saturday or every SundayRotating holiday coverage with permanent staffEMR is Cerner; experience preferredScrub uniform includes provided polo shirt with khakis or black pantsResponsibilities may include working in inpatient rehab, sub-acute units, or outpatient clinics depending on facility needsOutpatient clinics serve orthopedic, sports medicine, and lymphedema patientsNo rehab aides, OTAs, or PTAs on unitTeam includes PT, OT, and Speech professionalsOrientation consists of 12 hours plus three unit-based shiftsEmployee must be prepared to work holidays as part of a staff rotation, including one major and one minor holidayRequirements
Current, active Occupational Therapist license required if applicable; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum 2 years of relevant acute care experienceCurrent BLS certification requiredExperience with a variety of patient populations including ortho, neuro, peds, cardiac, and bariatricsCompletion of orientation, including 3 floor-specific shiftsCopy of driver’s license required for considerationTwo professional references : one supervisor from within the last year, and one peer or supervisor from within the last three years, including employment dates and rehire eligibilityBenefits
