Behavioral Health Counselor
Full-Time Position
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health, the Behavioral Health Counselor is responsible for aiming to achieve the goals of the patient's mental health in several important ways that can be broken down into clear, measurable objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provides various outpatient mental health services with the goal of patient recovery.
- Supervising Licensed Master Social Workers for the Clinics eligible patients.
- Conducts intakes and monitors individual, group, and family therapies.
- Conduct assessments of clients / patients to identify substance abuse and / or mental illness.
- Develops service plans and conducts reviews as needed throughout the duration of treatment.
- Provides mental health assessments, counseling, referrals, and intervention services.
- Completes and maintains documentation according to federal and state guidelines.
- Assists clients / patients who suffer from substance abuse and / or who have a mental illness.
Requirements
Must be a Licensed Independent Social Worker – Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) ? Must speak fluently in English (bilingual preferred, but not required).Home base for this position is Conway, SC although travel to Marion, and Johnsonville may be required occasionally (as needed).Basic computer skills are essential to complete electronic medical records (EMR).Must have strong interpersonal skills to promote positive team relationships.Must work well on a team and collaborate with the Primary Care Providers to best assist clients and patients.Must have the ability to work with individuals with diverse backgrounds as well as children, adolescents, adults, and families.Practice intervention regarding substance abuse
