The Regional Commercial Facilities Engineer is responsible for providing advanced maintenance and building engineering support across multiple hotel properties located in Western Washington (Everett to Olympia, and west to Poulsbo). This role supports property-level maintenance teams by handling complex repairs, coordinating outside vendor work, and overseeing larger facilities projects that exceed on-site capabilities. The position operates with a high level of independence and requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Maintenance & Repairs
Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on building systems, equipment, and infrastructure that are beyond the scope of property-level maintenance teams.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems as needed.
Ensure all work meets safety standards, building codes, and brand requirements.
Project & Vendor Coordination
Obtain bids and quotes from outside vendors; review proposals for accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
Coordinate, schedule, and oversee vendor activities for repair work, equipment replacement, and capital projects.
Inspect vendor work upon completion to confirm quality, compliance, and adherence to scope.
Facilities Project Management
Lead or support large-scale maintenance and facilities improvement projects across multiple hotel locations.
Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables; provide regular updates to leadership.
Identify and recommend long-term solutions to improve property conditions, reduce downtime, and extend asset life.
Serve as a resource to on-site engineering and maintenance staff; provide guidance when technical issues arise.
Assist with training or coaching property maintenance teams when specialized knowledge is required.
Travel & Independence
Regularly travel between hotel locations throughout Western Washington using the company-provided vehicle.
Work independently with minimal supervision while managing priorities across multiple sites.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and follow-up needed.
Required Qualifications
Valid Washington State driver's license (company vehicle provided for business travel).
5+ years of experience in building maintenance, commercial facilities engineering, or a related trade.
Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Demonstrated ability to manage contractors, review bids, and oversee maintenance projects.
Ability to work independently and manage workflow across multiple sites.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to lift, carry, and operate equipment as required by the role.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in hospitality, commercial buildings, or multi-site facilities operations.
Certifications such as HVAC / R, electrical, boiler operation, or related trade licenses.
Knowledge of Washington State building codes, safety requirements, and compliance standards.
