Registered Nurse (RN) New Grad, Shock Trauma, Multi Trauma Telemetry, Rotating

General Summary

Under direct supervision participates in the nursing process by delivering care to patients and their families. Duties and responsibilities include direct care activities required in daily nursing practice on the assigned unit.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

• Nurse Graduates perform various routine nursing support functions as listed below.  These functions may vary depending upon the unit to which the Nurse Graduate is assigned.

After successful completion of an organized staff development program which includes an evaluation that the nurse graduate is competent through skills validation the nurse graduate may perform and document routine procedures taught within the nurse graduates generic nursing program including but not limited to :

Documenting in the medical record using the initials NG after the nurse graduates name as credentials

Performing patient assessments after the initial assessment or after the first assessment of the shift has been performed by the registered nurse

Verbally reports to the nurse significant changes in patients physical and cognitive condition.

Qualifications :

Education and Experience

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Highly effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required to work with patients visitors and other health care team members to establish working relationships that foster optimal quality of patient care.

Patient Safety

Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital department or unit patient safety initiatives.
