Purpose Floor & Decor Sr. Designer leads our design team and provides seamless start-to-finish consultative design services that build lasting relationships and brand loyalty. Responsibilities include meeting with customers, understanding their project needs, educating them on project requirements, and creating design concepts that reflect their personal style, lifestyle, and budget. Minimum Eligibility Requirements Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design) 6 years interior design experience in lieu of design education Combination of education and experience equal to 6 years Prior retail / sales experience preferred Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus Proficient in basic mathematical skills Self-motivated with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in a Floor & Decor Designer position Essential Functions Build and maintain relationships with residential and professional customers Greet customers and support store design needs Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals Advise on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetic solutions Manage multiple projects with accuracy and timely communication Collaborate with store leadership and staff to manage projects and meet sales goals Support company initiatives and model best practices Stay updated on current design trends Utilize design applications like Salesforce, MyProject, etc. Participate in professional affiliations such as ASID, NKBA Perform other duties as assigned Working Conditions Limited travel may be required Exposure to warehouse environments and moving vehicles; moderate to noisy noise levels Physical / Sensory Requirements Medium work involving exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and frequent handling, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, or crouching.
