JOB SUMMARY
The Electrical Apprentice assists the electrician in installing and repairing electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of industrial machines and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists Journeyman with installation, maintenance, and repair tasks
- Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, and electrical code.
- Gather tools and supplies to be used at the work site.
- Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit, using ruler and hand tools.
- Assist in connecting wiring and in troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culture
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED requiredEnrollment in or completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship programOne year of electrical experience in an industrial setting preferredCurrent and valid driver’s licenseAbility to take and pass a pre-employment drug screeningAbility to take and pass a fit-for-duty examinationSKILLS / KEY COMPETENCIES
