Associate, Manufacturing Engineer
Job Schedule : 1st Shift, 9 / 80 – Employees work 9 out of every 14 days totaling 80 hours worked, with every other Friday off
Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Segment, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the modernization and automation of production facilities, focusing on the OSD Defense Production Act (DPA) Title III efforts. This includes site development, program optimization, and equipment / process validation. The role also supports developmental and established production programs.
Prepare and maintain detailed process work instructions for facilities, processes, materials, and tooling.
Collaboration : Work with senior staff, Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Environmental Health & Safety representatives to ensure compliance and safety.
Develop and lead Process Hazards Analyses (PHA), Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and Facility / Equipment / Tool Acceptance documentation. Solve manufacturing problems using test and production data evaluation, root cause / corrective analysis, and drawing / specification interpretation.
Process Improvement : Operational Support : Participate in defect identification and resolution, ensure compliance with Safety, Operations, and Quality Assurance, and conduct process reviews.
Support process tooling development, design reviews, and implementation into manufacturing processes.
Demonstrate process ownership and implement improvements to increase efficiency while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Support energetic assembly operations, defect investigations, SPC monitoring, and continuous improvement activities.
Ability to travel up to 10% of time.
Bachelor’s Degr ee in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant Engineering experience. Graduate Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment.
