Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This special education teaching opportunity is designed for professionals with experience in elementary education and special needs instruction. The role involves co-teaching in a cross-categorical 2nd grade classroom alongside a general education teacher. This is a leave contract position located in Elizabeth, NJ, ideal for educators ready to make a meaningful impact with a manageable class size of up to 8 students per general education classroom.

Key Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with the general education teacher to develop and implement individualized instructional strategies for 7 students currently enrolled in the classroom.
• Utilize specialized teaching methods and programs, including Readers and Writers Workshop, Decodeable Readers, Fundations phonics program, and Fountas and Pinnell assessments.
• Support both in-person and virtual learning environments to ensure student engagement and progress.
• Adapt lessons to meet diverse learning needs within a cross-categorical special education setting.
• Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with parents and staff.
