Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Performs all radiologic procedures which are offered by the department, following exam protocols on neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patientsCompletes paperwork and computer related dutiesAssists radiologists, staff physicians, nursing, and hospital personnel with radiological servicesMaintains department facilities, equipment, and materials in a condition to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staffChecks and maintains equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular daily basis and per facility protocolKeeps supplies current, clean and replenishedProcesses film, evaluates for technical quality and accurate patient identification and side labelingGreets patients, verifies patient identification and physician ordersObtains, correlates and documents clinical history, prior to the start of examinationTransports patients and informs nursing units of patients' departure and arrivalHolds medical and other sensitive information in confidenceKnowledge of radiation safety measures and protection to comply with government regulationsPerforms other duties as assigned / necessaryMinimum Requirements :
High School diploma or its equivalent certification.Completion of an accredited radiological technology program, community-based college, or hospital-based program if required by state / contractState license or certificate where requiredCurrent ARRT certificate preferredFull command, verbal and written, of the English languagePrefer one-year relevant experience as a radiology technicianComplies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit / provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageAbout Amergis Healthcare Staffing, Inc.-Allied
