Position Summary :
The Analyst, Situational Management plays a critical role in leading incident management escalation calls across various types of incidents and developing and enhancing crisis action planning to support emergency preparedness for shoreside and shipboard operations globally. This position plays a significant role in ensuring the Royal Caribbean Group is prepared for and can effectively respond to a variety of emergency situations. This position is a part of emergency and crisis management that requires aptitude and stability to handle emergency situations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Crisis Management & Incident Response : Lead incident management escalation calls within the fleet for various types of incidents. Assess and assist in the creation and enhancement of plans and processes like situation reports (Sit Reps), spot reports, incident action plans, and senior leadership briefs.
- Situational Awareness : Establish organizational situational awareness related to emergency response and emerging risks, in collaboration with the Global Intelligence Team and the Manager of Situational Management.
- Weather Event Response : Monitor and participate in imminent weather events, liaising with the company's meteorology team. Ensuring accurate escalation and situational awareness.
- Post-Event Reporting : Compile after action reports and brief stakeholders as needed.
- Surge Capacity Review : Regularly review and update the company's surge capacity to respond to incidents, oversee the GO Team roster and campaigns, and train surge teams in conjunction with the Manager of Situational Management.
- Business Resiliency : Maintain and update critical incident playbooks. Update and expand global all-hazards plans. Collaborate with IT on business resiliency.
- Search And Rescue : Initiate the annual SAR plan process fleetwide, ensuring each ship is valid for the next year or as needed.
- Alerting Platform Management : Continually update data and alignment with stakeholders for escalations.
- Personnel Deployment : Assist the Manager of Situational Management when considering deploying personnel to ensure the effectiveness and accountability of deployable assets.
- Training Coordination : Coordinate and assist in all phases of training exercises or drills to implement response protocols for shoreside and shipboard assets

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills :
A bachelor's degree in emergency management, crisis management, homeland security, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical operational experience.3-4 years of experience in crisis response, emergency management, business continuity preferably in maritime, military, or emergency services (fire, EMS, or law enforcement).Experience with notification / event management systems (e.g., Everbridge), Emergency Operations Centers, crisis response groups, or leading teams is preferred.Experience coordinating projects across departments or large teams.Strong interpersonal and communication skills for all organizational levels in a multicultural environment.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and technical programs.Excellent writing, analytical, and report writing skills; ability to interpret business, technical, and regulatory documents.Strong problem-solving skills, able to manage diverse projects independently under time constraints.Highly organized with effective record-keeping and communication management.Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.Preferred Qualifications :
Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.Will exhibit mature and responsible decision-making, problem solving and proven judgment skills.Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate in a multicultural environment with all levels of employees and management.Self-driven to continually improve and actively work to bridge gaps in their knowledge in order to add more value to a particular project or setting.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and have the ability to prioritize based on business needs.Experience in maritime or travel industry operations.Preferred knowledge of incident / situation management, FEMA ICS Process (ICS 100-700 certification, is a plus), and incident / event logging systems.Consistent in good judgment and composure under pressure, including interactions with authorities, executives, clients, and business partners.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, dashboard creation, and automation tools (e.g., Smartsheet).Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong writing and typing skills.Ability to meet tight deadlines and maintain professionalism in stressful situations.Adaptability and quick learning in dynamic environments.Experience with alerting systems, GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS), Visio, and Power BI is a plus.Calm under pressure : Maintains professionalism during urgent, high-stress situations.Critical thinking : Rapidly analyzes incidents and supports decision-making.Collaboration : Works effectively across teams and with external partners.Communication : Delivers timely, accurate, and concise updates.Resilience : Demonstrates steadiness during prolonged emergencies.Adaptability : Thrives in fast-changing operational environments.The Analyst, Situational Management, will be reporting to the RCG headquarters working Monday-Thursday 09 : 00-05 : 00pm. RCG employees work from home on Fridays from 09 : 00-04 : 00pm. Additionally, the analyst position is part of a rotating on-call schedule, working alongside other team members to provide continuous coverage for the fleet. This on-call schedule will include nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring the provision of 24 / 7 global coverage. This commitment to around-the-clock service is a critical aspect of the position. The position requires flexibility regarding the possibility for deployment in response to company emergencies globally.
