The SUB AIT program supports the In-Service Attack Submarines Program Office (PMS 392) under Program Executive Office Attack Submarines (PEO SSN) to achieve optimal submarine operational readiness by providing production support, component repairs and technical support to accomplish repair, maintenance, removal / installation, troubleshooting and associated testing for Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) submarine maintenance availabilities. The efforts associated with this program will help restore and maintain the material condition and modernization of the fast attack submarines of the United States Navy.

Requirements :

HS / GED

Must be US Citizen

Confidential Security Clearance or higher level required

At least 2+ years' experience performing repair work on nuclear submarines

DOW type "final" security clearance (DISCO authority with a minimum of a confidential clearance status)

Final favorable adjudicated tier 3 investigation

Department of War Personnel Security Clearance (PCL) at the confidential level or higher

Pipefitting Tasks :

• Cut existing and new piping joints
• End prep existing and new piping joints
• Fit-up existing and new piping joints
• Complete required documents and QA forms
• Disassemble mechanical joints
• Inspect mechanical joints
• Assemble mechanical joints

Pipefitter Skill Requirements :

• Trained, qualified and have experience with all tasks and components similar to that outlined for TSD P1
• Experience performing SUBSAFE work IAW NAVSEA 0924-062-0010 L / R (Submarine Safety Requirements Manual) and hold PNS SUBSAFE qualification
• Steam Plant Cleanliness trained and qualified IAW NAVSEAINST 9210.36F as implemented by Corporate Naval Shipyard Uniform Industrial Process Instruction 5050-450A

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $39.56 - $53.52. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
