Shift Lead / Ice Cream Maker – Opening Team (Vancouver, WA)
Pay : $17.75 – $19.75 per hour + tips

About Us HANDEL'S HOMEMADE ICE CREAM is opening in Vancouver, WA! We're looking for experienced and dependable Shift Leads who are ready to take ownership of daily operations while delivering an exceptional guest experience - one scoop at a time. From making our ice cream fresh in-house to leading a high-performing team, you'll play a key role in bringing Alice Handel's legacy to life in the Pacific Northwest.
What We Expect From Shift Leads
- Lead by example and create a positive, fun, and high-performing environment
- Jump in to serve guests, solve problems, and support the team during peak times
- Maintain excellent communication and professionalism with guests and coworkers
- Be flexible and adapt to changing needs during busy shifts
- Monitor, support, and complete opening, mid-day, and closing checklists
- Make fresh ice cream in-store following Handel's precise recipes and quality standards
- Train and mentor new team members and promote accountability and teamwork
- Ensure FIFO product rotation and maintain inventory accuracy
- Enforce food safety and sanitization practices at all times
- Count registers and safes accurately and complete daily reconciliation
- Handle guest complaints with patience and professionalism, escalating when needed
- Ensure employees are clocking in / out properly and staying on task
- Accept and organize deliveries, and manage cash drops or bank runs as needed
- Lock up and secure the store (PM shift leads), including setting alarms
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends. Prior foodservice or shift lead experience required.
Compensation & Tips
Hourly wage starts at $17.75 – $19.75 / hourTips are earned in addition to hourly wagesTip distribution follows Washington State law and may only include eligible hourly team members (not managers or supervisors)Handel's does not use a tip credit - we pay at or above the Washington state minimum wageAdditional Requirements
