License : NC or Compact license required before start. Certifications : BLS & ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have : Traveler experience required unless the traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience. Experience with Cardiac Telemetry, Post MI, Pre / Post Cardiac Cath, and management of cardiac drips is essential. Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias is required. Experience with sheath removal and non-invasive airway management is necessary. Description : This role involves working in a cardiac telemetry unit specializing in stepdown care. Nurse-to-patient ratios may vary based on acuity levels. The typical ratio for surgical stepdown is 1 : 4, while lower acuity may be 1 : 5-6. Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work during catastrophic events or disasters. Nurses will manage patients with diagnoses such as Atrial Fibrillation, Congestive Heart Failure, and Cardiomyopathy among others. Special procedures include CABG, TAVR, and pacemaker placements. Familiarity with equipment such as arterial lines, EKGs, and chest tubes is preferred. Floating to other units based on skill set and staffing needs may be required. This position may involve working a flexible weekend schedule of 4 shifts every 4 weeks.
