Job Summary
This position involves providing high-quality medical nutrition therapy to patients and clients. Key responsibilities include assessing nutritional needs, delivering medical nutrition therapy, and offering nutrition education. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team and may also engage in community service by providing nutrition education.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education : Bachelor's Degree in Food & Nutrition or a related field
- Licenses / Certifications :
- Registered with the ADA Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
- CPR Certification (Heart Saver only) from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or obtained within six (6) months of hire
Experience / Knowledge / Skills :
Completion of a qualified professional experience in preparation for the registered dietitian exam administered by the ADA Commission on Dietetic RegistrationAbility to interact positively with diverse populationsStrong oral and written communication skillsDemonstrates commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process by integrating our culture in all interactions; delivering on our brand promise of advancing health through innovation, accountability, collaboration, compassion, and resultsPrincipal Accountabilities
Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary treatment team.Establish nutrition care goals, conduct assessments, and develop individualized nutrition care plans while continuously evaluating patient nutrition status.Provide age-appropriate medical nutrition therapy to patients and clients.Adapt nutrition regimens based on food preferences, tolerances, and cultural and religious beliefs.Document nutrition care plans thoroughly in the medical record, including assessments, monitoring parameters, goals, and recommendations.Deliver tailored nutrition education to patients and / or families that respects their age, religious beliefs, and cultural backgrounds.Ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards while maintaining budgetary compliance.Foster professional growth by fulfilling requirements for mandatory and continuing education, supporting department goals, and mentoring less experienced staff.Other duties as assigned.
