Overview :
Symbiotic Services is seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Counsel to join a dynamic legal and regulatory team. This position provides legal guidance and strategic direction on federal and state regulatory matters that impact operations in a highly regulated industry. This role supports regulatory strategy, compliance, and litigation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide legal counsel on federal and state regulatory matters, including FDA submissions, labeling, marketing, and enforcement.
- Lead regulatory legal strategy and manage regulatory litigation and administrative actions.
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise internal stakeholders on potential business impacts.
- Manage legal compliance for state obligations including multi-state settlement certifications.
- Oversee Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) responses and interactions with government agencies.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as Regulatory Science, Government Affairs, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to ensure business alignment.
- Represent the company in industry coalitions and regulatory agency discussions.
- Draft and negotiate contracts, compliance documentation, and legal memoranda.
- Educate internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements, changes, and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications :
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in the U.S.Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, preferably in a highly regulated industry.In-depth knowledge of FDA regulatory frameworks, litigation, and state-level compliance.Must be 21 years of age or older.Strong communication, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual collaboration tools.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working with the tobacco, pharmaceutical, or alcohol industries.Familiarity with federal and state regulatory landscapes and administrative law.Work Environment :
Office-based / hybrid role with some travel required.Requires regular computer use, sitting or standing for extended periods, and occasional lifting of light items (up to 10 lbs.).Compensation & Benefits :
