As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), you will play a vital role in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other physicians to ensure safe and effective anesthesia delivery for medical and surgical procedures. Your expertise will help create a holistic patient experience that addresses the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and functional needs of patients and their families.
Responsibilities
Implement accurate, safe, and patient-centered anesthetic care as a CRNA.
Understand the physiological implications and anesthetic considerations associated with surgical procedures while monitoring vital signs, capnography, and pulse oximetry as per ASA guidelines.
Ensure thorough documentation aligned with hospital and regulatory requirements while safeguarding all forms of patient information.
Demonstrate high standards of ethics, professionalism, and commitment to outstanding patient care.
Engage in ongoing projects to maintain and advance professional competency.
Qualifications
Education
A completion of a Certified Nurse Anesthetist Training Program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs. Must have a current State of Connecticut Nursing License and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure.
Experience
Prefer clinical experience as a CRNA within the specialty / service line, but candidates without experience may still apply. Must be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS Hospital and credentialed through the Medical Staff process.
Licensure
Must hold AANA Certification and State of CT RN and APRN License, as well as ACLS, DEA Registration, and State of CT Controlled Substance Registration.
Special Skills
CRNAs should possess sharp focus, the ability to communicate effectively, and be calm under pressure. Flexibility, adaptability, and the capacity for immediate response to anesthetic management are essential.
Physical Demand
CRNAs must demonstrate intellectual and sensory abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to stand for long periods. Must possess adequate motor functions and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. The role demands coordination and the ability to function under stress while being adaptable to changing clinical environments.
