Digital Collections, & Initiatives, Instructional Librarian

Charleston School of Law invites applications for the position of Digital Initiatives & Instruction Librarian. This person coordinates digital acquisition recommendations, the management of e-resources, and supports access to and training on the Library owned, licensed, and subscribed online resources to meet the educational and research needs of students, faculty, and staff. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Information Resources, the Digital Collections & Initiatives, Instructional Librarian has the primary responsibility for leading the development and activities of the Charleston School of Law's digital-based collections and programs.

Responsibilities and Duties Include :

• ABA accredited J.D. or ALA accredited M.L.S. / M.I.L.S. or equivalent degrees required.
• This position serves as the law library's first point of contact on copyright, fair use, and open access issues.
• Leads digital initiatives development by providing a full range of collection management, QA and sustainability services, and best practices.
• Continuously analyzes and optimizes e-resource discovery, access, and training.
• Contributes to and supports the library's digital and online presence through the investigation, implementation, and enhancement of tools that assist with research, creativity, scholarship, and engagement.
• Gather statistics and develop reports to determine the usage of resources and support digital collections decision-making by the Associate Dean for Information Resources.
• Provide troubleshooting to ensure access by the law library user community to owned and subscribed content.
• Provides exceptional service in responding to research, reference, and training inquiries of our users.
• Preference for an individual with some prior experience in preparing and delivering instruction or training in any setting but not a requirement.
• Work with vendors to organize and launch online resource trials for library user groups.
• Promote e-resources by creating and maintaining research guides, providing training, and arranging vendor / publisher presentations for the library team.
• Serve on library and campus committees as appropriate for the position.
• Reporting to the Associate Dean for Information Resources, this position will work as part of the small library team in a fast-paced, very collaborative environment.
• Advises users on library policy issues raised by digital resources and related matters.
