We are seeking a Board Certified Psychiatrist for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in Michigan, starting Jan 5, 2026. This full-time role offers weekday coverage, Monday through Friday (8am-5pm), with one weekday call and one in four weekend calls, in an inpatient psychiatric department. Job Details Location : Michigan Facility Type : Inpatient Psychiatric Department Start Date : Jan 5, 2026 LOA : 60 days Provider Type Needed : Psychiatrist Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm; call schedule 5pm-8am with one weekday call and one in four weekend calls Responsibilities and Duties Provide inpatient psychiatric care for adult patients (no pediatric patients) Manage an average caseload of 12 patients per day within a 27-bed unit Supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners Collaborate with a team of five psychiatrists and six advanced practice providers Treat a range of psychiatric disorders, including anxiety, affective, ADD / ADHD, personality, eating, developmental, psychotic, and organic disorders Conduct and oversee involuntary commitments, seclusion therapy, pharmacotherapy, group therapy, and restraint applications Coordinate with referral sources, primarily emergency departments Utilize Epic EMR for all documentation and patient management Ensure adherence to safety and security protocols, including staff duress systems and on-site security Additional Information Board Certification in Psychiatry required Active Michigan medical license required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Must be available for full-time weekday and call coverage as specified Experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred No pediatric patient care Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
